Number Ten Eleventh Symposium TalkTails: More Manhattan!
If you are crazy for craft cocktails, The TalkTails series at Number Ten Steakhouse in Great Barrington is an event that is worth singing up for. David Guenette, the Bar Manager at Number Ten is a passionate individual with an encyclopedic knowledge of classic cocktails, whiskeys and spirits in general.
Here’s the scoop on the TalkTail later this month:
The second season of Number Ten Symposiums starts with another look at Manhattans and variants. Early this year, we held a TalkTails on the “Manhattan and its Borough Variants” that explored the Manhattan, an essential cocktail within the structure of aromatic wine cocktails, right along with the Martini. The variants on the Manhattan structure are legion, and the Spring TalkTails looked at some of the variants that relate in terms not only in basic structure, but in taking on the names of other New York City boroughs and neighborhoods. We looked at and sampled cocktails that were called Brooklyn, Greenpoint, Red Hook, and Bensonhurst.
This TalkTails takes a step back, to explore both Manhattans and its variants found on the Number Ten Cocktail menu, plus takes a look (and taste!) of how different whiskey and sweet vermouth (and other ingredients) make the difference. Among other variants, we’ll taste what I call the Number Ten Manhattan Ultra, our and Royalist, the Black Manhattan, the White Manhattan, and more.
